Children of John L. and Nancy Jane Leyburn

According to my research, John and Nancy Jane Leyburn had eight children but only six of them have been documented. Using Ancestry.com and the memoir of Jennie Leyburn Harris, History of my family and events of my own life, I have found the following information on each of them,

When Lucy Ann “Annie” Leyburn was born on October 5, 1853, in Edwardsport, Knox, Indiana, her father, John, was 22, and her mother, Nancy, was 19. She married John Blackburn LeBus on October 6, 1872, in Flora, Clay, Illinois. They had 11 children in 23 years. To view information about her children, click on the following link. John B. She died on July 16, 1905, in Perry, Noble, Oklahoma, at the age of 51, and was buried in the Grace Hill Cemetery. There is a triple family grave marker for her, J.B., and son, Archie.

When Franklin I. “Frank” Leyburn was born in 1857 in Edwardsport, Knox, Indiana, his father, John, was 26 and his mother, Nancy, was 23. He married Mary Unknown in 1887. I do not know if they had children or when or where Frank or Mary died.

When Mary E. Leyburn was born in 1859 in Edwardsport, Indiana, her father, John, was 28, and her mother, Nancy, was 25. I have found Mary on only one census record – 1860 United States Federal Census record in Edwardsport, Indiana, age one. Perhaps she did not live into adulthood. She was not mentioned in Jennie Leyburn Harris’ memoir.

When Fannie Leyburn was born on October 28, 1860, her father, John, was 29, and her mother, Nancy, was 26. She married William Churchwell Waller on March 14, 1877, in Loudon, Tennessee. They had three children during their marriage. To view information about her children, click on the following link. Fannie Leyburn WallerFGS

She died on January 23, 1933, in Loudon, Tennessee, at the age of 72, and was buried in the Philadelphia City Cemetery, Loudon County, Tennessee.

When Willie Leyburn was born in 1870, his father, John, was 39 and his mother, Nancy, was 36. He lost his father when he was only 5 years old, and his mother when he was only 3 years old. I have found no information on the date or location of his death. Jennie Leyburn Harris mentions Willie as a small child in her memoir.

When Jennie Leyburn was born in 1872 in Flora, Illinois, her father, John, was 41, and her mother, Nancy, was 38. She married Joseph A. Harris on May 26, 1887. They had four children during their marriage. To view information about her children, click on the following link. Jennie Leyburn Harris FGS

Even though I have found no information about her death and burial, she may have died in Philadelphia, Loudon, Tennessee.
