In researching Daniel R. and Anna Margaretta “Margaret” Croft, with the assistance of a Croft “cousin,” I have (so far) only one record – the Blair County, Pennsylvania, Petition for Letters of Administration, Orphan’s Court, Docket Book B, Estate of Margaret Croft. Ann died on April 8, 1895, in Woodbury, Pennsylvania, and was buried in the Potter Creek Cemetery.

George died in August 1904 in Woodbury, Bedford, Pennsylvania, and was buried in the Dry Hill Cemetery.

When John Hipple Croft was born on March 30, 1819, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, his father, Daniel, was 36 and his mother, Anna, was 24. He married Elizabeth Teeter and they had nine children together. John Hipple Croft

He died on August 19, 1892, at the age of 73 and was buried in the Clay Center Cemetery, Clay County, Nebraska.

When Catherine Croft was born in 1822, her father, Daniel, was 39, and her mother, Anna, was 27. She married John Sow or Son. I have found no information about their children or her date of death and burial.

When Elizabeth Croft was born in 1826, her father, Daniel, was 43, and her mother, Anna, was 31. She married George Nunamaker. I have found no information about their children or her date of death and burial.

Daniel may have died in 1870 Washington and then buried in Osseo, Wisconsin. There is an 1870 United States Federal Census showing his family living in Osseo but a there is a death certificate for him in Washington.

John Friedrich Koenning or Könning was born on May 12, 1817, in Germany. His first wife was Helene Dorothea Becker and they had three children together. Helene died in 1854. John then married Anne Dorothea “Dora” Elisabeth Berger and they had three children together. Following is information found about his six children.

When Johann “John” Friedrich Könning or Koenning Jr. was born on September 24, 1840, his father, John, was 23 and his mother, Helene, was 23. They lived in Tüchen, Reckenthin, Ostprignitz, Brandenburg, Germany. He married Wilhelmina “Minnie” Pheil or Theil on September 20, 1868. They had eight children in 19 years. John died on October 15, 1921, in Westhoff, Dewitt, Texas, at the age of 81, and was buried in the Westhoff Cemetery

When Louise Maria Dorothea Könning or Koenning was born on March 21, 1851, her father, John, was 33, and her mother, Helene, was 34. She lost her mother when she was only 2 years old. She had four brothers and one sister.

When Unnamed Könning was born on January 7, 1854, his/her father, John, was 36 and his/her mother, Helene, was 37. The child died on January 10, 1854, within a year of his/her birth.

Joachim “Joe” Koenning was born on September 17, 1857, in Tüchen, Reckenthin, Ostprignitz, Brandenburg, Germany. His father, John, was 40 and his mother, Anne, was 35. The family immigrated to America in 1873 arriving at the port in Indianola, Texas. They first settled in Fayette County. Joachim married Helene Catherine Margarethe Wemken on November 12, 1881, in Shiner, Lavaca, Texas. They had eight children in 17 years. Karoline or Caroline “Lena” Dorothea Sophie Konning or Koenning was born on July 9, 1864 in Mertendorf, Germany. Her father, John, was 47, and her mother, Anne, was 42. The family immigrated to America in 1873 arriving at the port in Indianola, Texas. She married Frederich A.”Fritz” Rode or Rhode on December 19, 1882, in Lavaca County, Texas.
